Tekken 8 was first announced on September 13th of last year via Sony's State of Play (after being teased at Tekken 7's EVO tournament a year prior), and is set to be the first fighting game to make use of Unreal Engine 5. As of this year, it boasts seven mainline entries alongside a multitude spin-off games, a crossover with Street Fighter, several animated, printed, and live-action adaptations, and even a collectible card game. Tekken has been one of the most dominant fighting game series ever since its 1994 debut, and is currently the third bestselling fighting game franchise ever with a notable eSports scene to boot. The game may not yet have settled on a release date, but that won't stop Bandai Namco from keeping players hyped with regular character confirmations. It was followed by the canon sequel Tekken 4 in arcades and on the PlayStation 2 in 20, respectively.Tekken 8 is confirmed to be bringing back Hwoarang, who has been a mainstay since Tekken 3. A non-canon sequel was released in 19 in arcades and on the PlayStation 2 respectively, titled Tekken Tag Tournament. With more than 8.5 million copies sold worldwide, Tekken 3 is the second best selling fighting game of all time, second to only Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and the fourth best-selling PlayStation game ever. Tekken 3 is widely considered one of the greatest games of all time. The home version included a new beat'em up mode called Tekken Force, as well as the bonus Tekken Ball mode.
The game features a largely new cast of characters, including the debut of several now-staple characters such as Jin Kazama, Ling Xiaoyu, Julia Chang and Hwoarang, with a total of twenty-three characters. It was also the last installment of the series released for the first PlayStation. Tekken 3 was the first game released on Namco System 12 hardware (an improvement over the original two Tekken games, which used System 11). The original arcade version of the game was released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 as part of Tekken 5's Arcade History mode.
It was released in arcades in March 1997, and for the PlayStation in 1998. Tekken 3 (Japanese: 鉄拳3) is the third installment in the Tekken fighting game series.
